The Lost Words
Our School Library: The Lost Words
We found The Lost Words by Robert Macfarlane and Jackie Morris so inspiring for us. Their book, which celebrates the biodiversity of the natural world around us, is a call to arms to learn about, protect and cherish the animals and plants upon which we so depend. We are answering that call. We found The Lost Words by Robert Macfarlane and Jackie Morris so inspiring for us. We have just built a beautiful new school library, using the illustrations from The Lost Words, to inspire current and future generations of children with a love for reading and for learning about the world.
To mark our library’s opening, every class has gone outside into the natural world to observe, listen, wonder and connect. What follows are children’s responses, with words and art, to the nature they found.
